Welcome to the Biathlon centre of Martell

Martell lies in the western part of South Tyrol. The centre has 12 km of ski track and the most modern shooting rang in Italy with 30 electronic targets HoRa 2000. The Biathlon centre lies on a sea level of 1.700m. Because of its altitude it is probably the centre with the best snow probabilities in the alps with snow usually from the end of November to the end of March.

From January 22nd to February 4th 2007 the 5th youth and 40th junior World Championships will take place at the biathlon centre of Martell. These are the first World Championships in an Olympic discipline in the Vinschgau valley. The Biathlon centre of Martell is proud to host the best young Biathletes and future World Champions and winners of Olympic medals. ´

Information

The admission to all competitions of the Y/JWCH 2007 in Martell is free of charge for all spectators. The spectators can find warm food and drinks in the spectators tent.


Speedy the mascot

"Speedy" - this is the name of the mascot for the Youth and junior Biathlon world championships 2007 in Martell. The mascot was presented to the public in occasion of the “Südtiroler Erdbeerfest” 2005. Speedy obtained his name from the 4th class of the elemtary school of Goldrain. At the “Erdbeerfest” Speedy has already known Ole Einar Björndalen and Natalie Santer.
